How much is it? Low resolution sample images are free to view any time. A higher resolution digital image is available from $9.90 (inc GST) for Canberra and from $14.90 for other localties. High quality printed images start at just $40.00 (inc GST), include postage and packaging and are despatched within 5 working days. What happens after I order? It depends which option you choose. If you select to purchase the higher resolution digital image, you will be presented with a link to a secure webpage. This page will give you instructions on how to download your image. The image is a JPEG file, which can be viewed and manipulated in most graphic programs. If you select a printed image, the image is sent directly to our printer for processing. The image is printed on high quality gloss paper and laminated or framed if required. The image is printed and posted to you within 5 days. What will I be able to see? This depends on the image area you select. You should be able to clearly see individual houses and yards, and any cars that were on the street at the time of the aerial survey. Trees and bushes are also visible. Generally you will zoom in on an area covering several blocks. This will give you the best results for printing. It is strongly recommended however that you do not zoom too far in or your image may become blurry. Can I see my house clearly? In most situations, yes. Exceptions may be if your area is heavily overgrown with trees, or if your house has been built since the photography was last taken. What size print should I get? An A4 print will provide you with a good view of your home and surrounding streets. An A3 print will not necessarily allow you to see your house printed larger. It is more likely to allow you to print a larger area. This is due to the nature of digital images – there is a limit to how large a specific item can be printed before it starts to lose resolution. This is determined by the resolution of the original image, not of the printer or City2See’s data engine. Please note to ensure the best quality in your printed product our automated system will optimise the area covered by your print to at least 200 x 142 metres for A3 and 125 x 88 metres for A4. For rural areas such as around Yass in NSW the minimum area covered by the prints is 1300 x 920 metres for A3 and 800 x 565 metres for A4. Can I print it myself? Yes. However, the quality will depend on what dots per inch (dpi) setting you use on your printer. It is not recommended that you try to print the Standard Format (0.8 megapixel) image any larger than 150dpi although it is fine for viewing on your screen. The Extended Format (3.2 and 7.2 megapixel) images can however be printed on a 200dpi setting and can be printed up to A4 and A3 respectively. They will all be sharpest when printed at full resolution and the quality will depend on your printer and the paper you use. The quality won’t be as high as those produced on our professional colour laser printer where we use even higher resolution TIF files. |
