Dear Customer,

The new photography, flown in February 2007, has a spatial resolution of 10cm in the urban areas and 20cm in the rural areas. The urban photography is one of the highest resolutions of aerial photography offered on the web worldwide.

Historical 1943 Photography of the Sydney Urban Area
We are pleased to announce, in conjunction with Sinclair Knight Merz Pty Ltd, the release of historical 1943 black and white photography of the Sydney urban area. The photography taken in May/June 1943 has a ground resolution of 2 metres and extends as far north as Hornsby, south as far as Oatley, and west as far as Prospect/Toongabbie. There is also a corridor of photography along the old Great Western Highway as far west as Penrith.
Click on the image to the right to see a watermarked sample of Circular Quay and part of Sydney Harbour. Click here to see samples of how parts of Sydney have changed over 6 decades.
The 1943 photography has been georeferenced to the modern MGA94 datum and linked to our address data base so that you can search for photography of a particular location by typing in an address. It must be kept in mind though that the address database will be as at 2007 and many addresses will have changed or will not have existed in 1943.
The photography is ideal for environmentalists, educationalists, historians and those doing family research. A digital copy of the photography can be purchased on line, without any watermark, from as low as $15.90 although with the resolution of 2 metres users will not be able to zoom in as much as the current 15cm, 2005 colour photography already available of the entire Sydney urban area.
Coming Soon - Other New Photography!
We are also pleased to announce that within the next 3 months, in conjunction with Sinclair Knight Merz Pty Ltd, we will also be adding to our web site new 2007 photography of the Sydney urban area at a resolution of 10cm and 2006/7 photography of Darwin at 15cm resolution.
